MMA FIGHTER JAILED FOR WIFE BEATING

By Martial News Reporter

A MMA fighter who pleaded guilty to domestic violence has been re-arrested for violating his release conditions.

Brett "Da Grim" Rogers, 30, pleaded guilty to felony domestic violence at a hearing and has yet to be sentenced.

He was released and then re-arrested after allegedly breaking the conditions of his release.

According to reports, Rogers, who has fought for Strikeforce, was arrested following an incident in June when he was said to have been seen by a neighbour punching his wife as she lay on the ground.

According to the complaint against Rogers, police found his wife walking near a school and her face was bloody and she had a big lump above her left eye and a tooth missing.

She told officers that they had argued and that Rogers had become angry before he assaulted her, leaving her unconscious on the pavement.

After the assault the couple's two children had sought refuge with the neighbour saying they were scared to go home because he had used his martial arts skill to choke them out in the past.

In exchange for his guilty plea Rogers saw prosecutors drop charges of domestic assault by strangulation, stalking as well as a gross misdemeanor child endangerment charge.

He pleaded guilty to a felony third degree assault charge at the law court in Dakota, Minnesota, United States.

He will be brought back before a judge on November 30th.

BRUCE LEE MEMORABLIA SELLS FOR £135,000

By Martial News Reporter

A PRIVATE collection of Bruce Lee Memorablia has went under the auction hammer.

The 13 piece collection was sold in Hong Kong for £135,000 and had belonged to a private collector.

A fur-lined coat used by Bruce Lee in the unfinished film Game of Death fetched £46,700. Bruce died in 1973 before the film could be completed.

It was bought by American Greg Manning from New Jersey.

He told local newspapers: "I think Bruce Lee is worldwide recognised as one of the most important people in the martial arts field.

"He really pioneered the film genre, and we respect him as a human being and a person for his work and his art and for what he did."

Other items that went under the hammer included a hand-written, three page letter from 1966. It had been addressed to Taky Kimura, a long time friend of Bruce and a fellow Kung Fu instructor who lived in Seattle, United States.

Kimura was the best man at Bruce Lee's wedding in 1964. The letter raised £31,150.

Other collectors bid for student membership cards to Kung Fu schools attended by Bruce in Hong Kong and also a signed martial arts book.

BROCK LESNAR ON THE MEND AFTER SURGERY

(Caption): Brock Lesnar in happier times - the weigh-in for UFC 87

By Darren Currah

BROCK Lesnar is recovering following surgery to his recurring intestine problems.

UFC President Dana White revealed that he had talked to Brock's manager who told him that the heavyweight star is on the mend on his Canadian farm.

He has cut himself from the outside world - no phones - as he recovers from diverticulitis, a intestine condition which has seen him parts of his guts cut away.

Dana said: "I talked to his manager. You want to hear how fast this guy is recovering?
"He’s up on his farm in Canada. He has a big farm in Canada and he’s basically up there farming. He’s completely disconnected himself from the world, no phones, no nothing. He’s not talking to anybody."

Lesnar had surgery in May after he suffered a second out of the condition. He had 12 inches of his colon removed in the operation.

He had been due to have fought in UFC 131, Vancouver, Canada, against Junior dos Santos for the contender spot of the UFC Heavyweight Division. But then he suffered a flare up of the condition which had first floored him in 2009.

He bounced back and defeated Shane Carwin before losing his heavyweight belt to Cain Velasquez at UFC 121.

Brock has stated that he won't let the condition stop him competing in the Octagon. He plans to be at fighting fitness early next year.

Dana added: "We’re hoping he can be back by the first of the year," White stated following the surgery.
"His recovery has been incredible."
