She said that women needed more empowerment and gender equality.

She said: "There are two sides, women in India have attained success in all spheres of life like scaling peaks of Himalayas and top corporate posts, still there are malpractices of female foeticides and dowry."

I saw it, recently. And I had to leave, just when I come in for that last part.

ALLEGED WAR CRIMES KARATE INSTRUCTOR EXTRADITED

By Martial News Reporter

A KARATE instructor has been ordered by a court to be extradited to the United States.

Jorge Vinicio Orantes Sosa, who holds both US and Candian citizenship, was ordered by a crown court in Calgary, Canada, to handed over to US authorities.

He faces immigration charges in the US but is also wanted by the Guatemalan authorities for alleged war crimes.

Sosa, 53, is said to have been part of an attack on a village in the Central American country which saw 251 men, women and children massacred in 1982.

His Canadian lawyer will be challenging the law court's decision.

The Guatemalan authorities have issued an arrest warrant for murder by Sosa. The alleged offences happened during the brutal civil war when the country was under the rule of a military dictatorship.

According to court papers of an indictment lodged at the United States District Court for the Central District of California, he was the leader of a special patrol that was sent to the village.

The papers said the patrol "systematically" kiiled the men, women and children in the village of Dos Erres.

It is claimed that some of those murdered were killed with a sledgehammer blow to the head before they were thrown into the village well.

The women and girls were raped before the group murdered them. Children had their heads smashed against walls.

Sosa is said to have personally been involved in the killing and other crimes in the attack.

The US immigration charges were brought against him because it is said he lied to gain citizenship, claiming he had been involved in no crimes and had not served in any foreign military units.
