THE UCFC confirmed that hard hitting American heavyweight Joseph Woods will be competing at UCFC3.

The event will be held on March 17th.

Joseph who fights out of Chuck Parmelees Gym, Sioux City, Iowa, said: "I am looking forward to competing in the UCFC and putting a show on for the supporters of MMA in the UK."

UCFC co owner Lee Maggs said: "Joseph Woods is a huge guy who competes at between 250lb and 265lb.

"He is looking to make a name for himself on the international scene and views the UCFC as a way to kick start his international aspirations.

"We agreed a deal in principal but can now confirm that contracts have been signed with Joseph and we are extremely pleased to have him competing in the UCFC. 

"Joseph has agreed a multi-fight deal with the UCFC for 2012 and we are sure the supporters of the UCFC will give Joseph a big welcome and will be looking forward to his explosive debut.

"Once Joseph lands in the UK he  will be training out of West Leeds Muay Thai and MMA prior to the show and we will be looking to release the details of his opponent in the coming weeks.

"We are currently talking to several well respected MMA fighters who we would like to headline our shows in 2012."

UCFC ENGLAND VERSUS GERMANY MMA SHOW RESULTS

THE UCFC have released the results of its international fight spectacular.

The event was held at the Wesley Nightclub, Wesley Square, Pudsey, Leeds, on Saturday, November 12th.

An England versus Germany match, it saw top fighters battle it out in this prestigious event that re-lit the old sporting rivalry amongst thetwo countries.

Organiser Carl Messan said: "It was a fantastic show with some epic fights and what proved to be an edge of the seat main event. 

"Well done to all the guys who stepped into the cage & laid it on the line."

SUPREMACY is gearing up for its UK-1 Challenge show that will feature K-1 kickboxing and MMA fights.

The show is being held at the Lancastrian Suite, the Old Federation Brewery, Dunston, Gateshead, on Sunday, October 23rd.

It will be streamed live on the new Combat Sports Live TV channel, run by Martial News, 10th Legion and Dapper Grappler.

It will also be shown on SKY TV later in the year.

Michael Surtees, show organiser, said: "This show is a mixture od semi-pro MMA contenders and K-1 style kickboxing and will also have some pro fights on the card.

"We want to put a variety of combat sports on the card to provide variety for fight fans.

"We got a great match up between Kevin Thompson and a full-on Muay Thai fighter under K-1 rules. 

"Kevin has a great MMA record and the Muay Thai boxer is a very stronger fighter so its going to be an explosive stand up fight.

"It will be live on the new Combat Sports Live TV channel and on SKY and we are hoping that this help to bring on new and up-and-coming fighters to a new level.

"Since I started running shows we have had five guys who appeared on our events then go on to the UFC which is brilliant.
