FLOORED BY COUNCIL
By Martial News Reporter A PLAN to turn a closed-sports facility into a martial arts centre have been knocked down by a council. Sensei Scott Allbright, Aikido instructor and former world champion, wanted to convert the disused athletes track and facility into £3m martial arts centre and cultural attraction. But Sheffield City Council turned down Scott's bid on Woodbourn Road Athletics Stadium saying it was unsuitable. It will now be mothballed for six months.
