ABUSE IN MARTIAL ARTS IN this edition there are two stories involving renowned instructors who have abused students. There are those who think Martial News should NOT cover such stories as it tarnishes martial arts. They feel that it should be swept under the carpet and hidden away from the light of day... We totally disagree. We are a newspaper NOT a magazine. This means we will cover all aspects of martial arts, both the good and the bad. And if one area should be exposed into the full light of day its the abuse of students. If an instructor sexually abuses students then once caught they can fully expect to be exposed on Martial News. They should be shamed in front of their peers... ********************************************************************
MARTIAL NEWS AND UFC VICTIMS OF CYBER
CRIMINALS
BOTH the UFC and Martial News have been victims of cyber criminals. Although some may find such antics funny...its not. In fact such criminal acts can not only disrupt websites they can seriously compromise business, costing jobs and services. And worse, when virus-makers and hackers interfere and send disruptive programmes out there they can also infect other systems such as hospitals. This can have catastrophic results and in the past people have died because their medical records have been destroyed. This has seen people suffering from cancer and other life-threatening diseases not being treated in time. It's not funny, it's not clever and if we had our way those who indulge in such crass behaviour would be jailed for life... ********************************************************************
